Nervous Patient?

Being afraid of the dentist means different things to different people. Maybe it’s the thought that treatment will hurt, or that the sounds and smells bring back memories of bad experiences as a child.

We understand your fears and respect the worries you have about seeking treatment. Our experienced team always take a gentle, kind approach with nervous patients, taking everything at a pace that suits you.

To begin, we can meet you in our consultation room. We have a comfortable space where we can take the time to sit and talk face to face, giving you the chance to explain what makes you anxious, what your fears are and what you wish to achieve. We also offer relaxation aids such as TVs and iPod docking stations to help you. We also offer treatment under sedation and pain free anesthesia – “The Wand”

For exceptionally nervous patients, we offer safe IV sedation so we can carry out the treatment you want or need while you are in a very sleepy, relaxed state, and you won’t remember anything afterward.

Your fears and anxieties shouldn’t stop you receiving treatment, and we have lots of experience helping nervous patients overcome their fear of the dentist.

Sedation

Most patients develop their dental phobia due to a previous “bad experience” with a dentist. For these patient’s intravenous sedation is one of the best options to allow the dentist to carry out treatment.

Our sedation dentist's are highly trained and competent with many years of experience treating patients under sedation.

Sedation - We provide intravenous (IV) sedation to help calm the nerves of our nervous patients. Oral sedation involves IV sedation receiving an injection in the back of your hand. This method helps to relax nervous patients and also help them not remember any part of the treatment.

Treatment with Sedation - This is comfortable and you will feel very relaxed, but fully co-operative. You will not remember anything about your treatment. Afterwards, you will need somebody to drive you home and you cannot drink any alcohol or go back to work.

The Pain Free Wand

Here at Breeze we like to understand our patients. Many of our patients at Breeze Dental, from children to adults say they feel anxious before visiting the dentist as they are scared of needles (needle phobic) and don’t want to receive an anaesthetic. We wanted to help our patients overcome this fear and create a more pleasant experience for those dental visits. Pre-treatment anxiety is a common problem and one we have addressed with the introduction of The Wand.

So what is The Pain Free Wand?

The Wand is a small hand held tool that looks like a pen, which delivers an automated dose of anesthetic to the required area of the mouth. Working at a slow rate, The Wand operates at a low pressure to deliver pain free injections. Many patients remark that they did not feel the anesthetic being administered when The Wand was used in their treatment.

When is it used?

The Wand can be used for all routine dental treatments including crowns, fillings, cleaning, extractions and root canal treatment.

Here at Breeze Dental we are proud to offer our patients revolutionary new tools to make their visit to the dentist more comfortable.
